About the Pre-K Program
Lago Vista Academy's Pre-K Program combines an early education curriculum with an environment of fun, open-ended exploration, investigation, discovery, and building self-confidence and self-esteem. We provide perfect opportunities for small group work to meet each student's academic needs. We know that no two children are the same, and each student comes to us with their strengths, areas of growth and ways he/she learns. Our goal in our small groups is to honor these differences while providing a tailored educational plan that meets each student where they are academically and socially.
Our literacy lessons focus on reading and writing fundamentals we know our children will be asked to utilize throughout elementary school. We present a balanced approach to our students to ensure they become proficient, lifelong enthusiasts of learning.

Pre-K students learn about and master many of the skills and concepts necessary to enter Kindergarten. Throughout these lessons, students will learn the following:
How to recognize and write letters, numbers, and their first and last name using proper spacing and letter formation.
Language development
Visual discrimination
Health and nutrition
Oral comprehension and vocabulary
Understanding the purpose of the calendar
How to utilize objects of scientific exploration
How to explore the world of art, music, physical fitness, science and dance
How to pair phonics
